There have been some questions lately about the status of Brightspot Photography… yes we are still here. Over the past 6 months I have been carrying my second child, finishing my masters in education, teaching middle school art full time, chasing around my 3 year old, potty training a new puppy and taking as many deep breaths as I can find throughout the day. Also throughout this time, my new business partner and friend, Tierny and I have been developing a new image for the business. We are hoping that in just a short time we will have a new logo, website, and a full schedule of photo shoots. Please do not let my absence from blogging lead you to believe that we would not LOVE to take photos for you. We are equipped and available and summer is the best time to give us a call as I am not teaching full time. You can e-mail either Tierny or I to book a shoot at marcia@brightspotphotography.com or tierny@brightspotphotography.com. We would love to hear from you!

Seriously - fun! This family is absolutely hilarious and there is no doubt in my mind that it is crazy fun at their house most of the time. Then there is the fact that these two kids got the most gorgeous combination of their parents genes you have ever seen. Donovan will be killing girls with these eyes and Maisy, with her endless blue eyes, blonde hair and perfectly pink lips - good luck to mom and dad with that! I would just chain up the entrances and exits to your house right now!

The shoot ended with a family football game… dad brought the jerseys so they could be official! Love it!

I have decided the best way to meet good people is through good people you already know. This is the sister of my best friends (from junior high and high school in Wisconsin) husband and they are truly the easiest people to get along with ever! So it is no wonder that their kids are so easy to get along with as well. This shoot was too much fun as we wandered around the arts garden in downtown Indianapolis. Riley is as fun as ever (future model or actress, no doubt) and Carson was the most content little guy you have ever seen. Lori and Jim, I may be calling you for tips shortly after July when my little guy arrives. I don’t know how you make it look so easy!

This was the quickest shoot ever as we were all completely numb before we got out of our cars. Mom and dad did their darndest to keep this little girl smiling, but it becomes difficult when our lips are all frozen, right Faith? Despite this, we got some really fun ones of all of them, including the baby Luke in mommy’s belly. Baby Luke is now a beautiful blue eyed boy who is desperately loved by this family. Thanks so much Dawn for your enthusiasm despite the cold and I can’t wait to see some of your shots of this little guy and his big sister throughout the summer.

No, that isn’t her name, but it would be a great nickname. This little girl just makes you smile and melt a little. There is no doubt she gets her spunky personality from her mommy and daddy equally. Their warm and inviting living room was the perfect place to take pictures of this warm and inviting family.

They are both trying so hard to walk and from what mom and dad say, once they do they are going to get into a lot of trouble. Luckily, these big brown eyes and adorably pouty lips will also get them out of a lot of trouble.

was this cloud covered day of autumn. We led Paula and Jeff up and down the streets of this small town until all of our fingers and toes were numb. Just when we thought it was time to go back to the car and warm up, we’d walk by the next perfect spot for a photo and we just couldn’t resist. These two were willing to go anywhere we asked… including up the fire escape and, as you can see from the pictures, even seemed to enjoy it! I love too many of these to not blog them so enjoy the show!

There is no other title appropriate for this blog. I have never seen two children with more beautiful eyes in my life! Mom and dad both have them too, so it is no wonder! The sun was shining, the leaves were changing and these two were having too much fun. I would post the pictures of dad’s facial expression after this adorable young man’s stick came hurling at my camera… but it is probably not one they will be ordering for framing. Instead, we will share some of the more endearing photos of these two cuties!

and her big brown eyes. The warmth of this family could be seen in her eyes as well as the smiles of her family, the paint on the walls, and the smell of the meal floating through the kitchen. It was so fun to be invited into this relaxing Sunday afternoon with Sophia all of the people who clearly adore her. How could you not?

the people who laugh at the craziness of life with us. This was our first shoot to kick off the fall season and it was perfect. As with all families, they apologized at the end for all of the antics, and we laughed and assured them that their pictures would tell the story. I could share so many of these photos, but I forced myself to narrow it down the following. Thank you, Scott Family, for all of the fun!
